Bonds: what EZRENT does and doesn't do

Landlords › Tenancies

What EZRENT does

EZRENT records the bond amount against the lease. You enter it in Lease terms when you set up the tenancy (Bond Amount). The form reminds you of the usual limit: four weeks' rent in NSW, WA, NT, TAS and QLD, one month in VIC, and four to six weeks in SA.

What EZRENT does not do

  • It does not hold bond money. The bond is lodged with your state or territory's rental bond authority.
  • It does not lodge the bond for you or give legal advice.

Evidence for later

A thorough entry condition report (with photos) is the record you will rely on if there is ever a bond claim. See Create an entry condition report.
